PSV

“Augmented reality offers immersive experiences, one you won’t soon forget.” It makes an impact with the general public”

Summa Fashion College

“We were looking for a way to ensure that parents and children get started with traffic at home. It had to be something that they just enjoy doing together, while learning something. That’s what augmented reality has brought us! Dutch Rose Media has an eye and ear for what we want and what we need. And that’s great, a partner who thinks along with you!”

Discover the Eindhoven of the future

Future 040, Gemeente Eindhoven & Dutch Design Foundation

“We think people are waiting for some understanding of where the city is going. This concept is a tool to get there, and that’s what designing is about.”

Dutch Design Foundation

At the Dutch Design Week of 2018, visitors had the opportunity to discover the Eindhoven of the future.

A large empty greenhouse could be found on Stadhuisplein. Here visitors were presented with the future plans of Eindhoven center through multiple time layers, completely in augmented reality. When entering the greenhouse, visitors received a safety helmet and an iPad running an AR app. After scanning a marker, the center of Eindhoven – measuring 5 by 6 meters – appeared completely three-dimensional. Compare it with a virtual variant of Madurodam. The visitors could walk through and around the virtual models and view the various future images of Eindhoven through multiple time layers. This gave visitors a real glimpse into the future, which was often the starting point for interesting conversations and nice reactions.

As a bonus, visitors received a card with an invitation to download the Future040 app at home. With the help of this card, visitors could have a smaller version of the exhibition appear on the kitchen table at home.

Future040 showed that future plans do not have to be presented vaguely and that residents are happy to discuss this if they are triggered in an appealing way.
